The author, Laura Bradley, uses informal diction in her article. She also uses a hyperbole when she says, "rumors of a remake or sequel have been bubbling for what feels like 300 years." Bradley uses a hyperbole to show just how long people have been waiting for this to happen. The author's tone is slightly critical, as she questions the new cast multiple times. For example, she says, "still, we have to wonder why the film is being recast, considering the number of times the original trio has confirmed that they would be interested in reprising their roles." This shows that she feels that the original cast would be much better. The purpose of Bradley's article is to voice her doubts about the upcoming film. The author defends her argument by appealing to logos and pathos throughout the article. She appeals to logos when she uses direct quotes as well as when she talks about the old casting and the new screenwriters. In addition, she appeals to pathos, as she takes advantage of the nostalgia and love for the Disney classic.
